Barger Insurance Agency and Erie Insurance Company has teamed up to help meet the needs caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in our community by donating $1,000 to JOY Ministries. We want to thank JOY Ministries for all they do to help our community and for stepping up during this time of need. “It is people like you, looking for ways to help JOY, that make this organization happen. Everybody doing a little bit leads to a very large difference!” from Maggie Coleman with JOY Ministries. Currently JOY Ministries is taking donations for COVID victims and their families for groceries. There students are actually shopping for them and delivering the groceries since many are still in quarantine. Secondly, and perhaps more pressing, is the need for money to buy food. JOY is buying the food through Feeding America. They do not want to take food off the shelves in Adair County because they know that supplies are limited. Feeding America has been a very reliable, inexpensive, and helpful supplier during this time. JOY Ministries knows this is a need that will continue for many months to come. “People should not hesitate to give, knowing that the need will be great. And we regret we are not doing our normal collection of clothing and furniture right now, but we will start that once we get through the lockdown.” Says Maggie Coleman with JOY Ministries.
