Louis Glenn Pendleton, 76, of Shelbyville, passed away Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013 at Norton Healthcare Pavilion in Louisville.

He was a native of Adair County.

An accomplished athlete, he played for the Adair County Indians in both the 1054 and 1955 Sweet Sixteen state basketball championship tournaments.

He was a self-employed businessman and retired from Joe Pendleton & Son Heating and Air and later from The House of Knives. He was a 50-year, 32nd degree Mason.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph A. Pendleton and Mary Lois Sanders Pendleton; and by a daughter, Valerie Pendleton Norsworthy.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Montgomery Pendleton of Shelbyville; a daughter, Debra Pendleton Oates (Jim) of Shelbyville; his grandchildren, James M. Oates, Jr., of Marina Del Rey, Calif., Jennifer G. Oates of Shelbyville, Adam D. Norsworthy (Taylor) of Versailles, Kyle L. Norsworthy (fiance Jen), of Wilder; and by his great grandchildren, Nathan T. Oates of Shelbyville and Levi T. Norsworthy of Versailles.

Funeral service was Monday, Jan. 14 at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Oates and Bro. Adam Norsworthy officiating with burial in Shiloh Christian Church Cemetery.

Memorial gifts can be made to Shiloh Christian Church. These may be left at the funeral home.

Casket bearers were James Oates, Jr., Kyle Norsworthy, Nate Oates, Danny Reeves, Tony Waits and James Louis Reeves.
