The Lindsey Wilson baseball team hosts Bryan (Tenn.) today at 4 p.m. CT at Egnew Park.
The Blue Raiders (24-13), who are receiving votes in the NAIA Top 25 Poll, most recently split a doubleheader with Georgetown (Ky.) on Saturday winning 9-1 and falling 2-1. Aaron Ashton led the Lindsey Wilson offense going 3-for-8 with three doubles and four RBIs on the day.
Alex Bautista leads the team with a .406 batting average and is ranked second in the NAIA with 14 home runs. Victor Nazario is second on the team with a .393 batting average, while Ashton has six home runs and 38 RBIs.
Ryan Hartman and Scott Sebald combine for a strong pitching rotation with 7-1 and 6-2 records, respectively. Hartman has a 1.46 earned run average and Sebald has a 1.47 earned run average.
The Lions (27-13), who are also receiving votes, are on a four-game losing streak most recently falling to Milligan (Tenn.) 1-0.
Preston King leads Bryan’s offense with a .388 batting average and is ranked fourth in the nation with 11 home runs. Langston Calhoun leads the team with 45 RBIs and is second on the squad with nine home runs.
Kenny Knudsen has a 9-1 record and a 1.33 earned run average to lead the rotation.
These teams met for the first time this season on March 31 with Bryan escaping with an 8-7 win on a walk-off single in Dayton, Tenn.
