Alex Bautista is the Mid-South Conference Baseball Player of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.
It marks the second time this season Bautista has picked up the weekly honor.
The Brooklyn, New York, native hit safely in all six games, including a four multi-hit games, en route to a .611 (11-for-18) batting average for the week.
The senior outfielder tallied four home runs and 18 RBIs while helping the Blue Raiders to a 6-0 week. Bautista hit a pair of home runs and drove in five runs in Lindsey Wilson’s 15-5 road win over No. 24 Union (Ky.) in a mid-week game. During the weekend series with Pikeville (Ky.), Bautista hit a three-run, walk-off home run in the 14th inning to give Lindsey Wilson a 9-6 win in game two. He added a homer and six RBIs in the series finale with the Bears. Bautista ranks in the Mid-South’s top 10 in 11 different statistical categories, including leading the conference in slugging percentage (.748), hits (47), runs (39), home runs (10), RBIs (41) and total bases (89). He is fourth in the MSC in batting average (.395). Bautista is third in the NAIA in home runs, sixth in RBIs and eighth in total bases.Lindsey Wilson is 21-11 overall and tied atop the Mid-South Conference standing with a 7-2 league mark.
