The Lindsey Wilson women’s golf team finished tied for third place at the Heritage Hill Collegiate Classic on Sunday.
The Blue Raiders shot a final round 330 to tie with Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.) with a 665 team score in the eight-team tournament.
Cristina Jimenez led the charge for Lindsey Wilson finishing with a two-day total 162 (80-82) to sit alone in sixth place. The eight-over par 80 she fired in the opening round was the lowest score of the tournament for a Blue Raider.
Megan Kriz and Courtney Swindle both tied for eighth place in the individual standings with a score of 166. Kriz shot a nine-over par 81 on day two for her 166 while Swindle opened the tournament with an 8 before an 85 on the final day for her two-day total.
Amy Brown shaved six strokes off her opening round 89 to finish with a final score of 172 after an 11-over par 83 on day two. Kayla Cordeiro rounded out the team with 179 (95-84) in 21st place.
Competing as an individual, Shayna Cockrill wrapped up 20th place with a 178 (90-88).
Marian (Ind.) won the tournament with a two-day 648 (332-316) while Lawrence Tech (Mich.) took second with a 660 (334-326).
Dakota Wesleyan’s Lauren Fitts led wire-to-wire to posting a 146 (77-69), including a three-under par performance on the final day, the lone competitor to finish a round under par.
Up next for Lindsey Wilson is the spring Mid-South Conference tournament hosted by Pikeville (Ky.) in Prestonburg, Ky.
