Joseph Wise of Marion County was arrested Saturday following an incident on Hwy. 80, two miles outside of Columbia.
The Adair County Sheriff’s Office was called for a complaint of suspicious activity on Hwy. 80. Deputy Tracy McCarol arrived on the scene and made contact with Wise, who was driving a truck with a golf cart in the back. McCarol spotted a Green River State Park sticker on the cart.
A call was made to the manager of the park and found a golf cart had been stolen. The cart was identified as belonging to the park and Wise, 35, was taken into custody.
Wise was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail and charged with felony theft by unlawful taking over $500, but less than $10,000. The golf cart was returned to the state park.
