Mary Louise Coffey Franklin, 90, formerly a resident of Adair County, KY, passed away on Monday, November 23, 2020 at Hopkins Nursing Home in Bowling Green, KY.

Louise, as she was more commonly known, was born in Adair County on April 21, 1930. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bert & Lou Anna Harmon Logsdon, her first husband, Sam Coffey, and her second husband, Chester Franklin. She was a member of Plum Point Baptist Church in Adair County.

She is survived by her son, Sam Coffey, Jr. (Brenda) of Bowling Green, KY; a daughter, Kathy Daulton (Dale) of Goodlettsville, TN; three grandchildren, Miranda Daulton of Ashland City, TN, Brian Coffey (Jenny) of Bowling Green, KY, and Melissa Greene (Jim) of Pulaski, TN; four great-grandchildren, Lex Greene, Shelby Greene, Sidney Coffey and Logan Coffey; a sister, Doris Shirley of Columbia, KY; and several nieces and nephews.

Having lived on a farm most of her life, Louise was accustomed to hard work but she also enjoyed the opportunities that living in that environment afforded her. Some of her favorites were gardening, raising flowers, fishing, cooking, traveling and spending time with her grandkids. She loved people and in her later years she enjoyed babysitting for neighbors and friends and often sat with older people who couldn’t stay alone during the day. Louise was a very competitive person. It would have been difficult to find a better rook or checker player! In summary, she loved her family and she loved life!

In accordance with the Governor’s mandate, the service was private with burial in Bearwallow Cemetery
