Coy Morrison, 45, of Columbia was arrested March 27 on drug charges after a traffic stop just south of town.
The Adair County Sheriff’s office had been working on multiple complaints of possible drug activity around Toria and Rowetown roads in the Breeding area.
Around 9:08 p.m., Deputy Joey Keith initiated a traffic stop along with K9 Deputy Chandler Staten on Toria Road, about 11 miles south of Columbia. During the stop, a search of Morrison’s 2003 Ford Ranger was conducted and as a result he was arrested.
He was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail and is being charged with disregarding/failure to stop at a traffic control device; possession of a controlled substance first degree, methamphetamine, third offense; and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The investigation is ongoing.
