The Adair Sheriff’s Office responded with Adair EMS to a wreck with multiple injuries Wednesday, January 1.

Jeremy Wile, 35, was operating his 2002 GMC pickup 6 miles down Milltown Road headed towards North 61 when he veered off the road on a curve, flipping his vehicle before it came to rest at the bottom of a creek bank.

Wiles’s passengers Alice McGuffin, 21, of Green County and Mike Smith, 19, both sustained injuries as a result of the accident. McGuffin was taken by EMS to Westlake for treatment while Smith was flown from the scene to UofL.

After field sobriety test Wiles was taken into custody by Deputy Adam Cravens and charged with operating a vehicle under the influence with aggravating circumstance and no insurance. Wile was lodged in the Adair County Jail. Adair Search and rescue also responded to the scene.

Many local residents and motorists also assisted first responders on sight.
