Nancy Carol Whitlow Thompson Sinclair, 69, of Summersville, departed this life on Sunday, Nov. 20, 2016 at her home.

She was born on Aug. 1, 1947 and was the daughter of the late Everett Stokley Whitlow and Nora Elizabeth Whitlow.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Hodges Chapel United Methodist Church including serving as treasurer since 2010.

Nancy started her career at Lindsey Wilson College in December of 1987 and was still employed at the time of her death. She worked numerous positions in the Development Office and served as the Student Accounts Director for a number of years. She was currently employed as Executive Assistant to the College President. She was awarded the Honorary Alumni Award in October of 2011 from the LWC Alumni Association and was nominated by the LWC students as the Remarkable Raider last March. In October of this year, she was awarded the Honorary Doctorate Degree by the Lindsey Wilson Board of Trustees and Dr. William T. Luckey, Jr.

She united in marriage to Jimmie Thompson in January of 1970, who preceded her in death on October 21, 1979. She later united in marriage to Edward T. “Eddie” Sinclair on May 23, 1986, who survives.

Other survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, James Bradley “Jamie” and Cindy Thompson; two daughters and sons-in-law, Amanda “Amy” and Chris Wells of Columbia and Andrea and Ty Corbin of Green County; three step-children, Bryan and Christy Sinclair of Georgia, Travis Sinclair of Florida, and Joseph and Chasity Sinclair of Somerset; a sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth “Liz” and Billy Parson of Greensburg; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Morris and Nancy Whitlow, Jeff Whitlow and Rodney and Karen Whitlow all of Green County; grandchildren, Tylar Anne Corbin, Madilynn Grace Corbin, Whitley Gage Corbin, Reilly Elizabeth Wells, Greyson Banks Wells, Zane Tyce Edwards and Harlee Blayne Thompson; six step-grandchildren, Tristan, Zachary and Alexander Sinclair, Madison, Braden, and Dawson Adams; one great-grandchild, Abram Edwards; one step-great-grandchild, Jaisee Fisher; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Sinclair was also preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters, Clyde Whitlow, Billy Whitlow, Thomas Whitlow, Louise Bloyd, Geneva Bale, and Brenda Ford.

Funeral service was Wednesday, Nov. 21 at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with Dr. William T. Luckey, Jr., Bro. Meryl Young and Bro. Greg Whitlow officiating burial in the Aetna Grove Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Eddie and Nancy Endowed scholarship fund at LWC, Gideon Bible fund or the Hodges Chapel general fund which can be made at the funeral home.

Pallbearers were Jamie Thompson, Bryan Sinclair, Travis Sinclair, Joseph Sinclair, Chris Wells, Ty Corbin, Rodney Whitlow, Jeff Whitlow and Morris Whitlow.

Honorary pallbearers were Lindsey Wilson College co-workers.
