The National Geographic Bee is an annual competition organized by the National Geographic Society, designed to inspire and reward students’ curiosity about the world. Students in grades four through eight (4-8) from 10,000 schools across the United States will compete in the 2018 National Geographic Bee for a chance to win college scholarships and the glory of being the National Geographic Bee Champion. Adair County Middle School’s Geo Bee was held last week. The semi-finalists from grade 6-8 were from left to right: Jimmy Winfrey, Ethan Coomer, Ryan Odd, Emily Phillips, Chloe Stapleton, Alannah Bowman, and Kiana McHolan. The top three finalists were Chloe Stapleton (3rd place), Emily Phillips (2nd place), and Ryan Odd (1st place). Ryan Odd, 6th grader, completed the State Qualifying test last week. This test will be scored and ranked with the scores of other students taking the test in our state. Those results will be release by March 2, 2018.
