Betty Melson Vitrano, 72, of Columbia, passed away Friday, July 20, 2012 in the Cundiff community in Adair County.
She was born on Dec. 6, 1939 in Adair County and was the daughter of the late Russell and Lela Shearer Melson.
She is survived by one son and his wife, Lt. Col. Michael A. and Beth Vitrano of Tennessee; one daughter and her husband, Donna and Juan Gutierrez of Tennessee; two brothers, Creon Melson of Cundiff and Jimmy Melson of Jamestown; one sister, Rema Ramloui of California; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral service was Sunday, July 22, 2012 at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Stanley Watson officiating with interment in Shearer Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Tommy Melson, Joey Miller, Wesley Melson, Ritchie Melson, T.J. Melson, Adam Melson, Tony Grant and Matt Melson.
Ms. Vitrano was a beautician.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests expressions of sympathy be in the form of a donation to the Shearer Cemetery. These may be left at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home.
