OBIT: Laura Ella Sharpe, 94

Laura Ella Sharpe, 94, a resident of Fair Oaks Health Care in Jamestown, formerly of the Ella community of Adair County, passed away Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012 at Fair Oaks.

She was born on Sept. 16, 1917 in Adair County and was the daughter of the late Hollis and Valda McClister Morrison and was the widow of Leonard Sharpe, who preceded her in death on March 6, 1961; by one brother, George Leslie Morrison on Nov. 18, 2006; and by her great nephew, Adam Morrison on Nov. 17, 1996.

She is survived by one nephew, William Morrison and his wife Mary of Columbia; and by her special friends, Edward and Shirley Brown of Knifley.

A host of other relatives and friends also survive.

She attended New Hope Separate Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

Funeral service was Saturday, Feb. 18 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Bro. David Coffey and Bro. Edward Brown officiating with interment in Columbia Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of Gideon Bibles and may be made at the funeral home.

Pallbearers were Woody Goodin, Charles Neat, Vernie McGaha, Gene Coffey, Earl Coffey, Travis Bryant and Carl Coffey.
