OBIT: Maurice Keys, 82

Maurice Keys, 82, of Columbia, passed away Monday, Jan. 9, 2012 at his home in Columbia.
He was born in Columbia on Oct. 14, 1929 and was the son of the late Roy Samuel and Lorena Sullivan Keys of Adair County.
Mr. Keys was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Korea and was a laboratory technician at B.F. Goodrich in Louisville for 30 years.
He is survived by two daughters, Marsha English of Jeffersonville, Ind. and Rhonda Johnson of Clarksville, Ind.; one son, Glen Keys of Sellersburg, Ind.; one brother, Bill Keys of Columbia; and by his longtime companion, Dorothy Shelley of Columbia.
Eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, four nieces and a host of friends also survive.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Nancy Keys in 1987.
A graveside service is today at 1 p.m. at Haven Hill Cemetery with full military honors conducted by Columbia VFW Post 6097.
The family request visitation after 6 a.m. this morning at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Danny Downey, Joe Gadberry, J.M. Shelley, John Shelley and Delano Stotts.
