Patient flown to UK after two-car accident

Friday morning, July 1, Columbia  Police responded to a call from Adair County 911 of a two vehicle injury collision at the intersection of Green Hills Rd and KY 206.
Preliminary investigation indicates Janet Jerue, 64, of Columbia, was operating a 2013 Nissan when she attempted a left hand turn from Greenhills Rd and pulled into the path of a 2002 Mitsubishi operated by Billy Smiley, 32, who was traveling east on KY 206.
Jerue was treated on scene by Adair County Ems and transported to TJ Health Columbia for additional treatment. Jerue was then air lifted to University of KY Hospital.
CPD Sgt Gary Roy is investigating the collision and was assisted by Ofc John Dial
