Columbia Police Department arrested an Adair County man today on burglary and manufacturing methamphetamine charges.

Just after midnight CPD officers moved in on an abandoned house located off of Walnut Grove road. Officers had been observing the property after following up on leads indicating that Methamphetamine was being produced on the property.

Once it was determined that the house was being occupied, CPD Detective Brad Scholl, Officer Josh Brockman, and Deputy Jared Conover approached the residence.

Located inside was Chad Powell, 38, of Columbia, with an active meth lab. Powell was taken into custody and lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail on Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Burglary 3rd Degree, and 2 warrants of arrest for Flagrant Non-Support.

KSP Trooper Wariner and CPD Detective Tracy McCarol were notified to respond to the location to dismantle the lab.
