During the month of Jan., there were 19 traffic accidents investigated by the State Police working in the Post 15 area in the 11 counties of Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell, Taylor and Washington. Out of the 10 accidents there were six fatal collisions.

Ricky T Greer, 32, of Greensburg KY was killed on 01/14/15 in Green County
Ina F Copley, 40, of Russell Springs KY was killed on 01/14/15 in Adair County.
Steven Tyler Murphy, 21,of Greensburg KY was killed on 01/21/15 in Green County.
Jessie James Davis, 34, of Nashville TN was killed on 01/24/15 in Russell County.
Tim J Beard, 47, of Columbia KY was killed on 01/21/15 in Taylor County.
This brings the yearly fatality count to 6 compared with 2 through this same period in 2014 and the statewide fatality count stands at 60 compared with 49 through this same period in 2014.
Also, there were 1093 citations written, 31 courtesy notices written, 1130 vehicles inspected, 653 complaints answered, 104 motorists assisted, 72 criminal cases opened and 190 criminal arrests made.
