At 1:43 p.m. Emergency Management Director Greg Thomas announced the public square was completely back open and businesses could operate as usual.
Traffic around the courthouse annex, at 424 Public Square, was blocked and businesses told they should close after a call came into the county judge executive’s office of a bomb threat. The bomb threat took place around noon.

Columbia City Police and the Adair County Sheriff’s Office searched the annex. Judge Executive Ann Melton issued an executive order closing the building for the remainder of the day.
