Raquel Ieasha Anyega, 14, of Columbia, died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016 at U.K. Medical Center in Lexington from injuries received in an automobile accident on Oct. 28, 2016 on Liberty Road in the Pellyton community.

She was born Sept. 24, 2002 in Campbellsville. She was an eighth grader at Adair County Middle School and enjoyed all sports, especially track and field, dancing and music.

She professed her faith in Christ and was baptized and was involved in the youth activities at Columbia First Church of the Nazarene.

She is survived by her parents, Jeannie Abston and Levis Anyega of Columbia; one brother, Chauncey Abston of Columbia; maternal grandparents, Paul Abston and Marie Seals, both of Columbia; maternal great grandmother, Wilma Jean Keith of Columbia; and her paternal grandparents, Alfed Momanyi Anyega and Anna Momanyi Anyega of Arizona.

A host of other relatives and friends also surive.

Funeral service was Monday, Nov. 7 at Adair County Middle School with Pastor Tom Legg officiating with burial in Union Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Stanley Johnson, David Johnson, Bob Onyncha, Charles Harvey, Troy White, Brian White, Sovino Villegas, Shadreck Nyakeraka, Bud Abston and Craig Lasley.
