Rev. Charles R. Tone, 80, of Columbia, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Signature Health at Summit Manor.
He was born on March 4, 1937 in Cincinnati, Ohio and was the son of the late Agust Adolph and Clara Welsh Tone.
He was preceded in death by six brothers, Paul, Albert, Joe, Herb, George and Tom Tone.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Ware Tone of Columbia; one daughter, Robin (Donnie) Cornelison of Columbia; three sisters, Ruth Huff, Rosemary Leist and Janet Precht, all of Cincinnati, Ohio; three grandchildren, Ronnie (Whitney) Cornelison, Cameron (Lauren) Cornelison and Candace (Adam) Sneed.
Six great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends also survive.
Rev. Tone was a retired ordained pastor in the Nazarene church and United Methodist church, locally had pastored at Glensfork Nazarene Church and Lands Chapel and Pine Grove United Methodist Church in Clinton County.
Funeral service was Wednesday, April 19 at Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. David Stearns and Rev. Steve Pescosolido officiating with interment in Cane Valley Cemetery.
Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements.
