An Adair man was arrested on Saturday for possessing illegal drugs after a routine traffic stop on Bomar Heights.
Around 10 a.m., Kentucky State Police Trooper Clint Bale conducted a traffic stop on a 2003 Hyundai operated on Bomar Heights by William Miller, 26, of Columbia.
Miller informed Tpr. Bale that his license was suspended and during their interaction, Bale observed a half empty bottle of whiskey and Miller’s speech was noticeably slurred. Bale also discovered a small plastic bag in Miller’s pocket containing a crystal like substance believed to have been methamphetamine.
Miller was transported to T.J. Health Columbia where he refused to submit to a chemical test.
As a result, Miller was arrested and charged with failure to wear seatbelts; possession of open alcoholic container in a motor vehicle; possession of a controlled substance, first offense, methamphetamine; operating motor vehicle under the influence alcohol/drugs, .08, third offense, and driving on DUI suspended license.
Miller was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail.
