Russell County collision involves Adair woman, Jamestown police officer

(Russell Springs, KY.) – Tpr. Jason Warinner is investigating a collision that occurred Saturday, January 30 at 9:47 AM.

According to Kentucky State Police, 35-year-old Melissa Kessinger was operating an eastbound 2006 Pontiac on KY 92 and failed to yield the right of way at the intersection of US 127.  Kessinger pulled into the path of a 2013 Dodge police cruiser operated by Jamestown Police officer, 56-year-old Kent D. McDaniel.  McDaniel was belted and was airlifted to UK Medical center where he was treated and released.

Kessinger, of Columbia, and a passenger, 55-year-old Wanda Murray, of Columbia were both belted and were transported to Russell County Hospital with non life threatening injuries.

Tpr. Warinner was assisted at the scene by Jamestown Police Department, Russell County Sheriff’s Department, Russell Springs Police Department, Russell County EMS and Jamestown Fire Department.
