Four years ago Superintendent Alan Reed began a journey to bring an ROTC program to the Adair County High School. The project hit a wall and was taken off the table, but an opportunity arose in recent weeks that culminated with the school board approving the program during a special called meeting tonight.
The board approved the program and a teaching position. ROTC will be offered during the upcoming school year. Principal Troy Young said students who are interested in the program will have to rework schedules but that is normal procedure during the begining of the school year and it won’t be a problem. The school’s site base board has approved the program and given Young authority to move forward. More will be available in next week’s Community Voice.
