Thursday, the Adair County School Board held a special called meeting to interview two candidates for the interim Superintendent position. The interviews were held behind closed doors in executive session and the board did not release the names of the candidates to the press.
“I make a motion to authorize board Chairman Floyd Burton to work with our attorney to prepare a contract to send to a prospective interim superintendent and we will see if they will accept it,” said board member Mike Harris.

The motion was seconded by Lisa Burton and was unanimously approved.
The board is hopeful to have a decision by the regular monthly meeting that is scheduled for this evening at 6 p.m. at the Adair County Board of Education.
All board members were present for the meeting; however, Superintendent Reed was not in attendance.
