Adair County spring break is safe and students should get out of school around the first week of June, said Superintendent Alan Reed.
Proposed legislation in Frankfort and the fact that Adair County has two days on their school calendar more than the state requires should help end the school year during the first week of June, Reed said during a phone interview.

Reed said there are currently five legislative bills that are pending to provide relief for the numerous snow days that occurred throughout the state and he is confident there would be some legislative help.
“There is enough competition for family time as it is,” Reed said, “and we don’t want to add to that by cutting into spring break.”
The school calendar will be discussed at next Thursday’s school board meeting, which will be held at the Board of Education building at 7 p.m.
