Sheriff’s Office investigates Injury Accident in Knifley Community

On Feb. 2, at 5:02 p.m., Adair County 911 received a call of an injury collision with a vehicle rollover 12 miles east of Columbia on Ky 76.

Preliminary investigation showed Unit 1, a 2019 GMC SUV was attempting to make a left turn from Ky 76 into a private drive. The GMC was operated by Julie Polston, 26, of Campbellsville.

Polston failed to see Unit 2 operated by Kharece Roution, 55, of Columbia who was traveling straight ahead on Ky 76 in a 1999 Jeep Cherokee.

The GMC struck the Cherokee during the attempted turn causing the Cherokee to leave the roadway and overturn.

Roution and her passenger, Barry Roution, were treated on scene by Adair County EMS and transported to TJ Health Columbia.

K-9 Deputy Chandler Staten is investigation the collision and was assisted by Knifley Fire Department.
