COLUMBIA, KY. — Gunshots were fired in a residence hall parking lot on the campus of Lindsey Wilson College Friday evening. Law enforcement and school officials are reporting the campus is safe. The shooter has not been identified.
Dean of Students Chris Schmidt says there are no reported injuries and campus is safe.
LWC received a report of gun shots fired in the campus parking lot of McCandless and Horton Halls Friday evening. Campus officials promptly reported the alert on the college app and social media accounts. Students were urged to remain indoors until the situation was resolved.
The incident is still under investigation and school officials are cooperating with law enforcement. More information will be released as details become available.
School officials lifted the lockdown at 8:18 p.m. CT.
“The campus community can resume normal activities but remember to please use caution and increase your awareness when traveling on campus,” said Schmidt.
