CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – A Kentucky State Police trooper was in the right place at the right time with the right skills Friday, and saved a child’s life.
Trooper Casey Wethington was on patrol in the Speck Ridge Road area of Taylor County when he was flagged down by a female. She said her 7-year-old daughter, who was in the car with her, had just had a seizure and was not breathing.
Wethington immediately radioed to Post 15 dispatch and called for an ambulance. He then pulled the child from the car and began CPR, continuing until EMS arrived and took over the child’s care. The girl was taken to the pediatric intensive care unit at Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville.
