The past two weeks for the Adair County Middle School boys’ basketball team has set high expectations for the rest of the season.
On Nov. 12, all three grade levels played Hart County and avenged the football team’s loss to them earlier this year by dominating the court. Sixth grade won 31 to 5; seventh 38 to 34; and eighth grade won 43 to 19.
The team went on to play Green County two days later where the sixth grade and seventh grade boys scored wins by margins of 30 to 24 and 50 to 23 respectively, but the eighth grade fell with a loss of 24 to 53.
Another two days after that, on Nov. 16, the lower-grade boys stumbled, losing to Campbellsville 21 to 26 for the sixth graders and 33 to 35 for seventh. Eighth scored a major win by going 42-28.
Then this past Monday, the sixth and eighth graders went on to win by massive margins against Cumberland County, with sixth grade posting a win of 33 to 7 and eighth winning 42 to 28.
