Adair County High School basketball under the leadership of Coach Jordan Brangers has been playing this summer against teams across the state. Last week, they played in the three-day Lindsey Wilson Shootout where they won four of six games.
On day one of games, Adair County went up against Thomas Nelson from Bardstown. The Indians walked away with a crushing 87-46 victory. The second game of the day, Adair County took on Green County. It was close, but Adair County pulled out the win 42-35.
The Indians split the games on the second day of the shootout. A hard-fought game but Adair County fell short 46-52 against Wayne County. They returned to the court against Harlan and got the win 54-45.
Caverna came out strong on day three and took down Adair County 48-78 despite strong efforts from the young Indians team. The second game of day three, Adair County played against Bowling Green. The Indians played hard and managed to overtake the Purples 57-54.
The Indians are putting in the work with workouts, drills, practices, and summer games to build the team. After losing four of the five starters from last year’s team, the focus is on rebuilding.
