Adair County man injured in Wednesday morning wreck

At around 8:30 a.m. Charles Loy, 37 of Columbia, was operating a 1992 Dodge pickup truck traveling east on Edmonton Road approximately 7 miles from

Columbia when his vehicle traveled off the roadway and over an embankment striking a tree.

Loy was trapped inside the vehicle. Adair County Fire Department responded to the scene and extracted Loy from the vehicle.

Loy was then transported by EMS from the scene and was met by AirEvac near Wal-Mart. Loy was then transported by Air Evac to a Louisville hospital for treatment.

Deputy BJ Bray with the Adair County Sheriff's Office is investigating the wreck. Units with the Adair County EMS, Adair County Fire and Adair County Search and Rescue were on the scene for over an hour.
