Boys’ golf team narrowly loses to Metcalfe

Posted

The middle grade boys golf team narrowly lost a match against Metcalfe on Monday evening. Despite all the boys scoring well across the board, with most of them shooting games of below 40, Adair County tragically lost by two points.
By the time the teams went home, the score was 153 to 155 in favor of Metcalfe.
“We played really well,” Head Coach Zach Madewell said, “but Metcalfe played extremely well. I’m still very proud of our team. We have improved an extraordinary amount since the bginning of the season, and we are not done yet.”
Contributing to the score were Kaden Burton and JT Loy, who both shot a score of 38; Graham Robertson came in one point higher with a 39; Carson Coomer scored an even 40; and Carson Darnell finished with a 42.
The close game, and the team score of 155, is good news for the boys, however. With more practice, they are in a good position for the upcoming conference on September 16 and their regional tournament on September 24.
