Producers with interest in CAIP are encouraged (but not required) to attend an informational meeting to better understand guidelines and changes that have taken place for 2024. Informational meetings will be held at the Adair County Cooperative Extension Service on the following dates and times:
• August 1 at 10 a.m.

Residency is determined by a valid Kentucky driver’s license or photo ID and one utility bill. The address on both the ID and utility bill must match the address provided on the CAIP application.
A copy of both shall be submitted and placed in the file with the application.
Agricultural Development Funds contributed to the CAIP cannot exceed the percent match denoted in the Investment Area Guidelines.
Each of the 11 Investment Areas have revisions with the implementation of a new-tiered system. Please review each Investment Area Guidelines for all revisions. For more information on investment areas, visit https://adair.ca.uky.edu/anr.
All CAIP applicants are required to have completed a Kentucky Agriculture Water Quality Plan. The Kentucky General Assembly passed the Kentucky Agriculture Water Quality Act in 1994 with the goal of protecting the surface and groundwater resources from pollution resulting from agriculture and forestry activities. The AWQA Planning Tool helps you think about your farm activities and determine what practices you have that prevent pollution.
The question-and-answer format tailors plan development to your farm and eliminates sections that aren’t applicable. You can also use this tool to identify additional practices you may want to add to your farm in the future.
The tool may be accessed online at https://eec.ky.gov/Natural-Resources/Conservation/Pages/AgWaterQualityPlan.aspx Paper versions are available at the Adair County Extension Office and Adair County Soil Conservation office.
