Cheryl C. Giles, 65, of Knifley, the daughter of the late Robert Thomas Henry and Anna Marlene (Higdon) Wakefield, was born November 6, 1959 in Jefferson County and departed this life Thursday, December 19, 2024 in Columbia at TJ Health Columbia.
She was a homemaker and of the Christian Faith. Cheryl enjoyed gardening, puzzle books and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Lewis Giles; two sisters, Sandra Gayle Large and Gloria Denise Wakefield.
Survivors include four children, Michele Giles (and companion, Steve Cortie), Paula Osinger and Cory Giles of Knifley and Dawn McGuffin Crew (and husband, Adrian) of Columbia; one-step daughter, Cindy Trent of Florida; one brother, Thomas Henry Mitchell Wakefield of Elkhorn; one half-sister, Diane Horrine and husband Bobby of Indiana; eight grandchildren, Brock and Brittany Burkhart, Brooklyn Giles, Braxton Osinger, Sarah Parrott, Rihannah Jaecee and Gavin Giles; one step-grandchild, Haley and one great-grandchildren, Reyna Gasper.
To honor the request of Mrs. Giles, cremation rites will be conducted by L.R. Petty Funeral Home in Campbellsville. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
