Employees who work in Adair County should take time to check their pay stubs and make sure the correct occupational tax amount is being withheld. For any employers who outsource their payroll, they should be sure to check with their payroll provider that the correct tax amount is being withheld from their employees’ gross wages.
In October 2024, the Adair County Fiscal Court amended the county’s occupational tax ordinance. While the original plan called for reducing the rate, the tax rate for 2025 is to remain as it was in 2024: .5%.
