Edwin N. Taylor, 81, of Columbia, died Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at TJ Health Columbia Emergency Room.
He was born on July 30, 1943 in Adair County to the late Edward and Marie Hamilton Taylor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Glenda Taylor Evans. Edwin was a member of Columbia United Methodist Church, a US Army Veteran and retired Chief of Columbia Police Department after 22 years.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Corbin Taylor of Columbia; his daughter and son-in-law, Candi and Daryl Flatt of Columbia; his granddaughters, Emilee Flatt and Ashton Flatt both of Columbia; three brothers, Orville Taylor of Indiana, Fred Taylor and Sammy Taylor, both of Columbia; two sisters, Rita Partin of Columbia and Jeanette Rucker of Louisville; several other relatives and friends.
Graveside services were held Saturday, December 14, 2024 at Jones Chapel Cemetery with Hunter Underwood officiating and burial to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to 3trees Church, which can be left at the funeral home.
