Elmer Lee ‘Junior’ Draper, 81, of Louisville, passed away on August 12, 2024. He was born January 2, 1943 in Columbia, the oldest child of Elmer Lee Draper Sr., and Ocra Johnson Draper, who predecease him.
Elmer was a retired master welder from old L&N Railrod in Louisville. It was known that he could weld anything other than the crack of dawn or a broken heart.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Barbara; and siblings, Nancy Shirley Aiken and Roy Allen Draper.
Elmer is survived by his three sons, Steve (Jane) Draper of Lexington, Jeff (Robin Fisher) Draper of Louisville and Mike (Tina) Draper of Louisville; his stepchildren, Larry Morton, Leanne Greschel and Danny Morton; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; siblings, Richard Draper of Campbellsville, Laverne Reliford of Columbia and Phillip (Sue) Draper of LaGrange.
Elmer requested there be no funeral service but to be reunited with Barbara in their cremation niche at Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville where they will rest together.
