Frances Jeannette Montgomery, 87, of Columbia passed away Sunday, December 8, 2024 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. She was born in Glensfork, on June 15, 1937 to the late Zeno and Ruby Loy Lawhorn. She was preceded in death by her husband J. D. Montgomery. 

Mrs. Montgomery was a member of the Shiloh Christian Church and enjoyed playing golf, reading, singing gospel songs, and spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include three daughters, Terri Burris of Columbia, Sherri Crawhorn (Ralph) of Richmond, and Robin Fletcher of Columbia; five grandchildren, Jeremy Burris (Tiffany), Shawna McCartney (Doug), Tara Franklin, Christopher Fletcher (Renee), and Cameron Fletcher (Lauren); nine great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; two sisters, Yvonne Marshall of Columbia and Geneva Vance of Franklin, Tenessee; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and Donald Lawhorn.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Shiloh Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

Bro. Terry Shelley, Bro. Randy Young, and Bro. Jim Oats will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Shiloh Cemetery Fund and can be left at the funeral home.
