Gerald Ray “Jerry” Miller, of Casa Grande, Arizona, passed away on December 4, 2024 at the Arizona State Soldiers Home in Tucson, Arizona after a lengthy illness.

Gerald was born in Knifley, Kentucky, to the late Ray Miller and Margaret Marie Miller of Lexington, North Carolina.  He was 71 years old.

He is survived by his wife Janie Miller of Casa Grande, Arizona, his daughter Carla (Gaylen) Russell of Germany, two grandchildren; Connor and Adriana.

Gerald was one of seven siblings; three sisters, the late Kathy Hare of Columbia, Kentucky, Connie Leathers Tetreau (Gerard) of Lexington, North Carolina, Aleta Miller of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, his three brothers; Dean Miller (Norma) of Knifley, Kentucky, Darryl Miller (Julie) of Glens Fork, Kentucky, Dwight Miller (Roxie) of Hawkinsville, Georgia.  He has seven nieces and nephews and three great nieces and nephews.

Gerald joined the US Army at the age of 19, serving 22 years as an Infantry Soldier and a heavy equipment mechanic.  He served the bulk of his career in Germany where he met his wife.  He was a member of American Legion China Post, VFW Post 12043 and the Military Order of the Cooties 4008.  He served in multiple wartime locations and was proudest of his service and of being from Kentucky. He had a wry sense of humor, loved to talk, tell war stories and interact with friends and family

Visitation at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home on Monday, December 16, 2024 from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. with a Funeral Service to follow

Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery with full military honors presented by VFW Post 6097
