Girls golf team hits new best scores

In Thursday’s game against rival Russell County, the Adair County girls’ golf team not only continued their upswing streak, but took home a big win.
And while there, they also finally dipped below their goal and shooting a game of 199.
“We broke this team’s record with a 199, our goal,” Coach Ashley Goodin said. Coach Goodin has been looking forward to the girls dipping below the 200 mark for some time now, and Thursday set a new high point for the girls as a team, with several individual players also doing new personal bests.
The full score breakdown is as follows: Ila Loy coming in at 40; Ashley Loy at 52; Claire Loy at 53; Gracie Gist at 55, Shae Inchcliff at 54; Laney Inchcliff scored a 62; Adysen Wooley scored 64; Reesa West got a 63; and Delcie Burton a 67.
Coach Goodin explained the scores and complimented her team, saying, “For Adysen and Delcie this was their first full 9 holes from red tees so those scores are good. Ila shot her personal best.”
Following this game, the girls played again on, this time in a several-county match in LaRue County. There, several girls including Ashley Loy, Shae Inchcliff, and Laney Inchcliff scored new personal bests.
“It was a Par 71… I think we got 10th, but for us, we scored well. Still a ways to go but we’re improving a lot,” Coach Goodin said.
Continuing to become more and more efficient with each game, the Adair County girls are proving that their time on the range is paying off in each match.
