Hazel Squires, 102, of Campbellsville, a daughter of the late Robert W. Paxton and Lorene Rothchild Sublett Paxton, was born January 26, 1922 in Green County. She died on Thursday, December 12, 2024 in Summersville.
Hazel professed faith in Christ and was a member of Green River Memorial Baptist Church. She was a retired sales clerk. Hazel enjoyed life and the company of others. She also loved being outdoors and planting and harvesting her garden.
She united in marriage to Wallace Squires April 26, 1946 and he preceded her in death on May 29, 1989.
She is survived by nine nephews, Eddie Paxton, James Paxton, Randall Pierce, Tom Biggs, Jerry Biggs, Kenneth Ray Biggs, Larry Dangerfield, Robert Dangerfield and David Dangerfield; several great-nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one brother and four sisters, Joseph Paxton, Ernestine Pierce, Carrie Lee Biggs, Mamie Davis and Willetta Dangerfield and four nephews and two nieces, Henry Pierce, Dale Davis, Carlton Davis, Robert Paxton, Maryland Pierce Terry and Yvonne Davis Copley.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at Parrott and Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville with Bro. Jamie Bennett officiating and burial in Bethlehem Cemetery.
