Helen C. York, age 88, of Russell Springs passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at her residence.
She was born on Thursday, July 9, 1936, in Bliss, Kentucky.
She was the daughter of Mary Hughes and Herbert Ray Claycomb, both have preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Rhonda Holt, spouse Dane, of Clovis New Mexico and Laverne Blair, spouse Steve, of Columbia; one son, Douglas York, spouse Jacquelyn, of Russell Springs; four grandchildren, Amanda Holt, Las Vegas, Nevada, Kristina Holt, Clovis, New Mexico, Jonathan Burton, Russell Springs and Dillon York, Vicco, Kentucky; and 1 great-grandchild, Dane Gonzales of Las Vegas, Nevada.
 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon York; three brothers, Bobby, David and William Claycomb; and a grandson, Christopher Burton.
 Mrs. York was dedicated to working for the Lord. She was very involved in church activities at Columbia Church of Christ and never missed an opportunity to go to services. She loved her church family and always tried to live as God would want her to. 
She was a registered nurse for 40 years graduating from Berea College School of Nursing in 1958 and worked at the hospital and nursing home in Columbia until her retirement in 1998.
While at Berea she met her husband Vernon and they celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary before his passing in 2021. She was a caring and compassionate person who loved everyone and was loved by everyone who knew her. The most important  thing to her was pleasing God and doing His will.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Wilson Funeral Home, 391 East Steve Wariner Drive, Russell Springs. Visitation will be 1 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Wilson Funeral Home.
Officiating Clergy will be Bro. P.J. Hicks and interment will be in Wilkerson Cemetery, Russell Springs.
Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
