Mary Jean Eads Burton, 84, of Columbia, passed away Friday, December 13, 2024 at TJ Health Columbia. She was born in Casey County on June 13, 1940 to the late Leslie Eads and Alice Johnson Monday. She was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Burton; and two siblings, Evelyn Coy and James Eads.
Mrs. Burton was of the Christian faith and enjoyed flower gardening and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include four children, Tommy Burton (Carolyn) of Columbia, Jeff Burton of Indianapolis, Becky Carter (David) of Campbellsville and Cathy Antle of Columbia; seven grandchildren, Scott Bruton, Chris Huckaby, Chad Huckaby, Shawn Carter, Matthew Burton (Holly), Cheyenne Neat (Cody) and Kimberly Popplewell (Chris); eight great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Brayden, Jayden, Jaxton, Destiny, Kaycee, Brook and Addie; one great-great grandchild, Miller; a sister, Jewel Clements (Junior) of Liberty and several other friends an relatives.
Funeral services were held Monday, December 16, 2024 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Bro. Matt Pendleton officiating and burial in Haven Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Matthew Burton, Shawn Carter, Chris Huckaby, Chad Huckaby, Brayden Carter, Jayden Burton and Jaxton Burton.
Honorary pallbearers were Cody Neat, Chris Popplewell and Wyatt Richards.
