Even before school officially starts back, Adair County athletes are already hard at work. Last Thursday, the Adair County Middle School girls’ basketball team played their first game of the season against Northern Middle School.
While the away game in Somerset featured some losses, it also had its triumphs. The sixth graders scored nine to Northern’s 20, and the eighth graders scored 34 to Northern’s 51, resulting in wins in both age ranges for Northern.
The Adair County seventh graders, however, accomplished a decisive win with a score of 44 to 30.
Coach Mike Sneed stated that he was, “Proud of the effort, execution, and competitiveness of these young ladies. (It was) a good start to the season. Gotta get back to work and keep improving.”
