Sandra “Sandy” Kimbler, 72, of Columbia, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2024 at her home. She was born August 15, 1952 in Adair County to the late Coakley Matney and Lillie “Polly” Banks.
Sandy was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Temple in Campbellsville. She was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, whose faith guided her throughout her life.
She was a loving mother to her two sons and Grammy to her four granddaughters. She affectionately referred to her grandchildren as her “angel girls.” Her greatest blessing was her family; she often spoke of how blessed she was to have lifelong friends who enriched her life with so much love and support. She enjoyed spending time with all of her loved ones, creating the most special memories to be cherished forever.
Despite the years of living in pain due to rheumatoid arthritis, she carried herself gracefully. She was a strong-willed and kind-hearted woman, always putting the needs of others before herself. She was known for her compassionate nature and witty sense of humor. Sandy will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include two children, Jeremy Kimbler (Jessica) and Troy Kimbler; three granddaughters, Sydney Kimbler, Sophie Kimbler and Kaydence Kimbler; one great granddaughter, Lottie Jay Grant; one brother, Ernie Matney; one sister, Donna Banks White (Rodney); two nephews, Kerry Matney of Russell Springs, and Rob White of Louisville; and a host of other special relatives and friends who also survive.
Funeral service was held Friday at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home. Bro. Rudy Stacy officiated with burial in Columbia Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Rob White, Kerry Matney, Richard Miles, Chris Cook, Jay Cook, and William Johnson.
Grissom-Martin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
