ACHS basketball season kicks off with “Meet the Indians”

The Adair County Basketball season is heating up. The Indians made their official appearances for some scrimmage matches at ACHS. The Lady Indians had the honor of going up against a whole team of Lady Alumni. The overtime scrimmage was full of lighthearted fun and serves as a great kickoff for the upcoming season.

The teams also held a fundraiser with a silent auction and chili which brought a lot of support for the local teams.

The Indians are just three weeks away until the season kicks off with an away game against Boyle County.

The ACMS boys’ basketball team is in full swing this season and are going through games with plenty of wins to show. This first game this past week was up against Glasgow where one out of three games was a win at the home games.

Sixth grade boys lost 22-27, seventh grade took home the only win for the night going 53-23, eighth grade tried to get their second win for the season but faced a loss with a final score of 40-32.

The boys then went up against the Adair rival team of Taylor County on Tuesday and brought home two out of three wins. Sixth grade won 35-20, seventh grade won 31-20, and eighth grade lost 7-49.

You can watch the basketball team face off at home against Russell County tonight at 5 p.m. which is sure to be a suspenseful set of rivalry games. The team will also have another home game on Monday where they will match against Clinton County, also at 5 p.m.
