Stevie Joe York, 64, of Columbia, passed away Friday, September 27, 2024 at his residence. He was born in Cumberland County on October 8, 1958 to the late Donell Louis York and Shirley Garmon Oliver.
Mr. York was a member of the United House of Prayer Church. He enjoyed serving at church, watching University of Kentucky basketball, being outdoors and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife Marcella Holmes York of Columbia; four children, Stephanie Brewer and Louis York (Bridgette) both of Columbia, Dean White (Mary Lee) and Megan Wright (Thomas) both of Lebanon; seven grandchildren, Samuel Brewer, Zachary Brewer, Emma York, Dani York, Molly York, Abigail White and Brooklyn White; two stepsisters Lisa Young (Doug) and Teresa Morgan (Steve) both of Owensboro.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the White Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. and will continue Saturday morning until time for the service at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.
