Vernon C. Parson, 79, of Columbia, Kentucky, died Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at 1:47 a.m. at T.J. Health Columbia emergency room.
Vernon was born February 15, 1945 in Adair County to the late Andy Clifton and Ada Frances Richard Parson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Taylor Parson, on November 8, 2022, along with his son-in-law, Mike Burris, three brothers, Carl, Leroy and Clell Parson and his sister, Ruth Bell.
Vernon was a member of Gradyville Baptist Church, but enjoyed visiting several churches. He retired from Greensburg Manufacturing.
Survivors include his daughter, Sherry Burris of Columbia; two brothers, Willard Parson and Steve Parson, both of Columbia; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 2, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Willard Parson and Bro. Barney Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Tarter’s Chapel Cemetery, and visitation will occur after 5 p.m. today, Thursday, August 1, 2024.
Casket bearers will be Anthony Parson, Chandler Staten, Briley Taylor, Casey Taylor, DJ Kirkendolph, Jerry Lucietta, Steve Parson, and Michael Parson.
