A beloved Adair County centenarian has died. Joe Spires, also known as Papa Joe, died Monday at the age of 103. The week Spires turned 100 was declared Joe Spires Week in Columbia to celebrate the World War II Veteran. Visitation is today at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with funeral services at 2 p.m.
