Volleyball becomes Silver Bracket Champions

Following a loss in Marion County on Thursday, the Adair County volleyball team played a series of games on Saturday at the LWC Wellness Center. There, the players won three out of five of their match-ups to become the Silver Bracket Champions.
In their Thursday game at Marion County, the girls went one to three against the competition. The final scores were 25-21, 21-25, 19-25, and 18-25. Olivia Mantooth garnered 14 kills and Josie Blair managed 11 blocks. Anslie Spoon scored 17 assists and Jazlyn Kemp 12 assists. Addison Spoon and Kinzlee Akin finished with 16 digs, and Olivia Mantooth got 13 Digs.
For the Saturday games, the team first faced off against Somerset. They started strong, ending the game with a two to one win with the scores coming in at 23-25, 25-17, and 25-22. Josie Blair scored 14 kills in the game and Olivia Mantooth nine kills. Similar to her performance in the Marion game, Kinzlee Akin got 13 digs. Addison Spoon finished with 4 aces.
The team’s next game was the first of two back-to-back losses. Elizabethtown bested Adair County zero to two, going 20-25 and 20-25. The next game, and loss, was to Breckenridge County. The Lady Indians went one to two, finishing 15-25, 22-25, and 9-15. In this game, Jazlyn Kemp got 11 assists. Concurrently, Addison Spoon got eight kills and Josie Blair got seven.
Adair turned their losses around when they went against Christian county with a two-to-zero win (25-18, 25-17). In the game, Olivia Mantooth scored seven kills, Anslie Spoon 12 assists, Kinzlee Akin 10 digs, and Addison Bowman three aces. They finished up with a win against Green County going two to zero (25-17, 25-23). Olivia Mantooth got four blocks.
